This lizard was trying [unsuccessfully] to hide in the grass from all the fascinated paparazzi. Eventually s/he escaped our attention by creeping in to crack under a walkway.
What a beautiful lizard Dale. It's skin colouration reminds me very much of the chameleons. How big was he? It must have been quite small to disappear into a crack. Thanks for this. :)
I love the bright green and the pattern, looks mosaic. Like Joan, I wonder how big, or little, it is? Nice capture with a subtle touch of matching grass.
For all those sizeists out there, she was about 12cm long, I suppose. But I didnt really put too much thought in to its size at the time, I was too busy trying to control the BWAH! effect, and actually get a photo for the blog.
I really have no idea if it can change colour, but I doubt it. It did, however, have signs that it had grown a new tail... maybe a lucky escape from the local Merlins or Redfooted Falcons
