Great White Egret take-off digiscoping

About 5 minutes after taking the flying Purple Heron digiscoping photos, I was in the hide and a beautiful Great White Egret came by. She stayed long enough to get a couple of photos. I liked this one:

Happy digiscoping,

  4. Hi Dale,
Wonderful flight shot. This is a beauty...
Concerning your visit to Iceland, you are welcome whenever you want as long as I'm not doing a trip somewhere for the job ;-)

  5. Super in-flight shot Dale! I could use some tips on getting these great in-flight digiscoped photos.

  7. @Gaelyn - that is exactly what I loved about the shot: the wings are clipped just enough to give one the feeling that the bird is expanding out of the shot and there is real movement in the photo. (it is completely uncropped, btw)

@Kevin, there are many reasons why I love DSLR digiscoping. Sure, in many circumstances it is not as easy as compact camera digiscoping, but then again, there are other times where it is way easier...

Thank you for the compliment, Bob. It is always nice to get such responses from someone with your experience!

@Chris, Iceland is unlikely to happen this year, but maybe next. If I can make it out there, you will be one of the first to know!

@Larry, I am working on the ideas behind making a flying bird digiscoping video...

  8. Hi Maria, that was the idea. I had taken a few photos of it sitting, but it was rather close to the hide, so I suspected it would not stay long: I was just waiting for it to take off and get that shot!
