While I love this blog, I now pretty much only write on my other two blogs: BirdingBlogs.com and 10,000 Birds - I would love to see you there!

Fun photographing flying gulls

The one evening in Burgenland at the Pannonian Bird Experience, there were a series of gulls flying over the meadows and vineyards in lovely light. These are some of my favorite shots.

All gull photos digiscoped with Swarovski Optik STM80 HD spotting scope, TLS800 digiscoping adapter, and Canon 7D

Happy weekend!

I think it's only called 'digiscoping' if you're using afocal coupling, but nice pictures

Dear Jake, I can only agree with you. For the longest time, I was just calling it telescope photography, but then no-one understood what I meant so I eventually just gave up and went back to calling it digiscoping.
then again, who made up the definition anyway?
happy birding,
Dale

Beautiful flight shots Dale. I love them too, and you're right the light is beautiful too.

Flight shots using Digiscoping, wow that degree of difficulty should have been pretty high on these shots.

Great lighting and detail Dale only an SLR can obtain unless you are very lucky with the P&S
