While I love this blog, I now pretty much only write on my other two blogs: BirdingBlogs.com and 10,000 Birds - I would love to see you there!

My dream job at Swarovski Optik

After a couple of months spent in Africa, it was time to get back to the Alps (and how nice was it to sleep in my own bed again!).

But the big news is that I have just started a new job at Swarovski Optik!

And I am well pleased about (finally) getting a real job and not just that, but doing something I really love to do - think and talk about really cool optical equipment.

Guess I'll end up doing some digiscoping in some really interesting places too!

Well done, that is a dream job. Reduced prices on equipment too maybe?

Congratulations!

And seeing as you are going to be digiscoping in interesting places, when can I expect you in New York?

Sounds interesting for sure, Dale, and congrats.

And welcome back, too.
If you start missing the bush, drugs won't help. I've tried (the legal ones!) and failed. You'll just have to go on missing it.

I disagree Jochen.....it mean he will have to come back here for some R&R. :) Nothing else will cure the disease. :)

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. It has taken me a little longer to get back to all your comments this week, what can I say, I was busy ;-)

Dear Matt, Frank, Anu and Jordan: if the rest of my time at Swarovski Optik is anywhere near as much fun as the first week, I am going to have a great time!

Dear Richard and Jon: I think I might be able to wangle a staff discount. but then again it is way more fun just to use the development and new products - that way I get that Christmas morning feeling all the time, and I can personally put the products through some serious field tests before I start to try to convince people why they are so great ;-)

Corey! brother! good to hear from you. As for coming to visit - as soon as possible. I'll have to start working on some good reasons... mmm...

Jochen, follow Joan's advice. Visit Africa. sounds like you need it!

Chris and Tabib - I have tons and tons more photos from Africa, but I dont want to bore the crowd by carrying on too long.
But I have a whole series of videos that I'll post at some stage.

Happy birding!
Dale
